**A CCJCC and NCSY Project**

What is Project Impact?

Project Impact explores and affirms teens’ personal responsibility to the Jewish community and to the world at large, often called Tikkun Olam, through the framework of Jewish text and action. Virtual learning is focused on identifying, and evaluating communal needs leading towards various tracks where teens implement plans and interact with the community. The project team will use prizes, incentives, and discounts on summer trips to Israel to motivate teen participation. To receive the prize per track, you must a) Complete the track as per its description below.

Track 1 :
Intergenerational Connection
​Adopt a Safta  

  Did you know that nearly a quarter of all senior citizens are considered to be socially isolated?! The goal of this track is to bring joy and company to people who need it the most during these trying times.
 
Participants sign up to spend 30 minutes a week, for a total of 6 hours, virtually or in-person. The recipient can be Jewish or non Jewish, and you can partner with a friend to co-host the meeting.

This track will be open Dec 1 - June 1, and is flexible at the participants' own pace.

Track 2 : 
​C
are Packages for Homeless Youth


Participants will meet 4 times throughout the year make food packages for the homeless. This track is open to the entire family. The goal of this track is to instill the importance of putting in the hard work in helping those less fortunate.
​Next one will be on Feb 26th at our Shabbaton in Tahoe (High school only), and the one after that will be Sunday March 6th open to the entire family in Walnut Creek!

Track 3 :
Creative Connection

Teens will help create 3 social events for the elderly throughout the year. These can be concerts (teen led), talent shows, Jewish holiday celebrations, etc. The idea will be to run a 1-2 hour fun social event for the elderly, and for the teens to connect with the Seniors and also help Seniors at these events with any technology they want to learn, such as zoom or ipad usage.
Our first event will be January 23rd! The other 2 are TBD.

Track 4 :
Positive Change
​Through Political Action

Teens will participate in 4 classes (some in person, some online) featuring presentations by leading Jewish advocates, rabbis, and politicians, hands-on lobbying modules, and informative sessions. They will become well versed in the state government and the legislative process through participation in interactive sessions, focusing on issues of concern to the Jewish community.
This track will close with a lobbying session with politicians in Sacramento on March 7th.

Track 5 :
What's Judaism got to do with it?

Teens will participate in 4 zoom classes about the Torah's value of chesed (lovingkindness). The classes will explore the deeper meaning behind giving back and Tikun Olam, and why it is considered one of the 3 "pillars" of the world. The track will culminate in a fun Shabbat together for all those who participated, and a volunteer trip to the Contra Costa Food Bank. 
This track will be determined on the dates and times that work best for everyone.

Track 6 :
Online Social Action Course

​Teens will watch 6 learning modules about how to become a social action entrepreneur. For those who already watched these last year - they will be given access to an advanced course with an additional 6 modules.
This track will be open Dec 1 - June 1, and is flexible at the participants' own pace.
